The Line is a forum where training discussions, gear advice, safety conversations, and competition talk can live long enough to be useful and findable years from now.
Who this is for
Everyone. Beginners figuring out their first Frenzel, pool athletes grinding DYN PBs, depth divers working on mouthfill, spearos, photographers, people who just love being underwater on one breath. The only requirement is that you're here to learn, share, or both.
How the forum works
Threads are organized with tags — disciplines like cwt, dyn, sta, dnf, fim, techniques like frenzel, mouthfill, btv, topics like safety, gear, competition, apnea-tables. You can add up to 3 tags per thread. Every tag has its own page, so "all CWT threads" is a real URL that stays useful over time.
The avatars you see on the home page are real members — the newest faces in our community. Yours will appear there when you join.
Content moderation runs on Claude (the AI behind Claude.ai). It works quietly in the background, flagging genuinely harmful content — dangerous misinformation, harassment, spam — while understanding that this is a freediving community where discussing blackouts, lung squeezes, and breath-hold limits is completely normal. Human moderators stay in the loop for anything ambiguous.
The short version on rules
The full community guidelines are here, but the essentials: safety context is non-negotiable when sharing technique advice, be respectful (disagree with ideas, not people), disclose any commercial interest, and harassment gets you banned immediately. If you see something off, email richard@theline.to.
What I'd love to see first
Introduce yourself — where you dive, what discipline you train, what got you into freediving. Or if you've got a burning question about breath-hold rattling around in your head, post it. That's what this place is for.
See you on the line.
